Miki Berenyi Trio play Waterford this Friday.

Miki Berenyi Trio will be making their Déise debut at Bank Lane this Friday, April 25.

Berenyi, former frontwoman of the band Lush, is performing alongside Kevin ‘Moose’ McKillop on guitar (Moose) and Oliver Cherer (Gilroy Mere, Aircooled).

The band formed in the last few years after the release of Berenyi’s critically acclaimed memoir ‘Fingers Crossed: How Music Saved Me From Success.' The book was an instant rise upon release, recounting the rise, fall and rise again of Berenyi.

In her book, she writes with painstaking honesty about her difficult childhood, finding her home in music ad grappling with a sexist and parasitic music industry.

Louder Than War called the book 'fearless', writing: "Fingers Crossed is a powerful, emotional journey intensely well told. All other autobiographies should be judged against it."

The Miki Berenyi Trio came together during the book tour, first playing Lush covers at book release events up and down the UK. The band have since travelled and performed across the US, UK and Europe. Last year saw the release of their first album 'Tripla'.

Supporting them on the night is Waterford’s own echo northstar. The singer-songwriter, aka Paddy Hennessey, has been steadily building a name for himself across the Irish live scene, beguiling a wide audience with his beautiful, ethereal music.

His supporting slot for Miki Berenyi Trip comes only a few months before he performs at All Together Now festival at Curraghmore Estate, another hometown gig of sorts.

Tickets are €20 plus booking fee and can be bought online at banklane.ie.

Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm.
