Maria Doyle Kennedy to perform at the Seantí
Maria Doyle Kennedy will be performing in the Seantí on February 6.
One of Ireland's finest songwriters will be stopping off at the Seantí in February for a much-welcome return to the south east.
Maria Doyle Kennedy, is perhaps best known internationally as an actress, but she is also a much loved and highly regarded singer-songwriter.
Accompanied by her husband, multi-instrumentalist Kieran Kennedy, Maria brings a storytelling style that combines her rich voice with Kieran’s musical skill, crafting a deeply intimate experience.
Their collaboration creates an evening filled with songs that explore love, life, and reflection, and does so with elegance and emotion, all framed by Maria’s captivating stage presence.
Maria has established herself as one of Ireland’s most prolific artists and entertainers.
As a musician, she is well known for her worldwide hit folk albums 'Mutter' and 'Sing' (feat: John Prine, Damien Rice, Paul Brady).
A live album, 'Live in el Lokal', was released in November 2028 which at the time was the 10th album on her own label – Mermaid Records.
Maria writes and performs with husband Kieran and all the while working on new songs they also completed two short films: 'A Different Kind Of Day', which has 14 international Laurels to it’s name, and 'Colour Code', written in memory of Sandra Bland.
Maria also collaborated with Feist and Jarvis Cocker on a video for the song 'Century'.
As an actress, she is currently appearing in 'Outlander' and among her many television roles are roles in high profile series such as: 'Orphan Black' (2013–2017), 'Downton Abbey' (2011), 'The Tudors' (2007–2010), and 'Father Ted' (1998).
The Seantí gig promises to be one of the early music highlights of the year.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with the show kicking off at 8.30pm sharp.
Those going along should note that seating is on a first-come first-served basis so arrive on time to avoid disappointment.
