Local author Jim Hyde celebrated for recent book

Jim Hyde's Cathaoirleach Reception at Dungarvan Civic Offices.
On Monday, February 24, Jim Hyde was afforded a Cathaoirleach Reception by Cllr. Pat Nugent, Cathaoirleach of Dungarvan / Lismore District Council at Dungarvan Civic Offices.
The event was a celebration of Jim’s recently published book, ‘The Super 7’.
The book highlights the heart and history of West Waterford, focusing on the towns and villages that make community so special, spanning Lismore, Cappoquin, Tallow, Ballyduff Upper, Melleray, Villerstown, and Aglish.
Congratulating Jim on his achievement, Cllr. Nugent said: “The Super 7 not only celebrates the places themselves but also the people who make them so unique.
“These are places that hold so much history, culture, and character, and Jim has done a fantastic job of bringing that to life for us all to enjoy." The street by street approach within 'Super 7' outlines the highlights, the superstars and endless unexpected wonders, gorgeous corners, historic sites, deep rivers, cosy main streets, high mountains, churches old and new, wild woods, mad history, quirky finds, places to cycle or drive to, a great stop for a cuppa, and much more.
The book contains nearly 200 places, over 400 photos and mentions over 50 local websites.
