Waterford Panto Society is staging 'Cinderella' in the Theatre Royal in December.

Waterford Panto Society's 40th Anniversary celebrations will be in full swing in the Theatre Royal throughout December when it stages is production of 'Cinderella'.

As one of those involved commented: "'Cinderella', 40 years of laughs, cheers and Christmas magic…can you believe it?"

In an online post the society said: "Waterford Panto Society is pulling out all the stops for its 40th birthday bash with the timeless tale of 'Cinderella'."

The show will feature everything associated with one of the most celebrated fairytales of all time.

It will come complete with the Ugly Sisters, magic carriages, glass slippers and the traditional happy ending where the good guys always win and the magic leaves the theatre with the audience as part of the Christmas tradition.

In an online post the Theatre Royal said the show will feature 'all your favourite panto chaos, wild costumes, toe-tapping tunes, full live band and plenty of local banter'.

'If you grew up shouting, “he’s behind you”, (and teaching your kids to do the same), you know what a big deal this is for Waterford,' noted the venue spokesperson in its post.

'It’s not just any Panto, this is the Waterford Panto.'

Those interested in going along are asked to note that demand will be high and to have a date in mind, and a backup or two, before joining the booking queue.

The panto performance dates are: Wednesday, December 10th - Friday, December 12th – 7.30pm; Saturday, December 13th – 2.30pm and 7.30pm; Sunday, December 14th – 2.30pm;   Wednesday, December 17th – Friday December 19th – 7.30pm; Saturday, December 20th – 2.30pm and 7.30pm; Sunday, December 21st – 2.30pm and 7.30pm;   Saturday, December 27th – 2.30pm and 7.30pm; Sunday, December 28th – 2.30pm; Monday, December 29th – 7.30pm ad Tuesday, December 30th – 2.30pm.
