Celebrated film set for January screening in Waterford
The film will be screened in January
A film that has received rave reviews and one that explores the complexity behind finding one's place and creating a sense of belonging, will be screened in Waterford next month.
Waterford Film For All presents 'Christy', in Garter Lane on Tuesday, January 13, at 7.30pm.
When 17-year-old Christy is kicked out of his foster home for attacking his foster brother, he is released into the care of his half-brother Shane, and back to the community of his childhood.
Having tragically lost his mother when he was very young, he has no sense of connection to the place or it’s people.
As a result he struggles to settle in.
However, the local community slowly starts to connect with Christy and in doing so help him to finally feel like he may have found somewhere to call home.
A spokesperson for Garter Lane commented: "Brendan Canty’s debut feature, based on a short of the same name, is a love song to the truest sense of community, with moments of pure joy and fun that break through the bleaker moments.".
Tickets for the film, priced €9 and €7.50 (Concessions) are now available through the box-office on 051 855038 or through ticket@garterlane.ie
