Garda Ken flies Waterford flag at Paris Olympics

The Déise is well represented at this year's Olympics in Paris with one local Garda flying the flag for Waterford with colleagues from An Garda Siochana.

Garda Ken McDonald, who is a JLO officer attached to Waterford Garda Station, with over 26 years of service under his belt, is currently on duty in the French capital for the 2024 Olympics.

He is in Paris with other Gardaí and working in cojunction with the French police force.

In a comment on their social media page, his colleagues from Waterford Gardaí advised Garda McDonald to make sure he has his walking boots on and to have sun cream on hand.
