Gardaí investigation after woman's body discovered on Waterford beach

Tramore, County Waterford.

The Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body of woman was discovered in the early hours of Monday, August 5, in Tramore, County Waterford. 

It's believed that the woman's body was washed ashore on to Tramore Beach, on The Promenade. 

A passerby is said to have discovered the remains and alerted the authorities.

Coroner

Gardaí were contacted for comment on the incident.

A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána sent the following statement:

"Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier this morning, Monday, August 5, 2024, at the promenade in Tramore, Co Waterford.

"The body has since been removed from the scene and the local coroner has been notified."

Local enquiries

"The results of post-mortem examinations and local enquiries will determine the course of Garda investigations," said the spokesperson.
