Waterford gardaí are appealing for information on a serious aggravated burglary and four other incidents across the Déise and south Kilkenny.

On Saturday, May 10, at around 2:30am, three males forced entry to the home in Ardmore Park, Ballybeg, by breaking the glass in the front door.

They entered and left the house through the front door and appeared to leave the immediate area on foot.

Gardaí are asking people in the Ardmore park area and surrounding roads to check their video doorbell and report anything that may assist the investigation to the Crime Unit at Waterford Garda Station on 051 305300 or the confidential line 1800 666 111.

“We would encourage people to report any suspected crimes by phoning 999/112 or their local Garda Station. If you see something, say something.

“Or you can call our audio messaging service on the confidential line on 1800 666 111. Full details are available on www.garda.ie and the Garda Síochána Waterford Facebook page,” said a garda spokesperson.

SIX CROSS ROADS

Gardaí are highlighting the value of local information, as information leads to arrests in one of the five incidents.

Suspects in a burglary at Carraig an Ard, Six Cross Roads, were apprehended because of information from a neighbour.

The incident happened on Monday, May 4, when a homeowner returned to find their upstairs rooms had been ransacked.

Jewellery, a mobile phone and a sum cash were taken.

However, a neighbour witnessed a male and female fleeing the scene and contacted gardaí.

The suspects were captured on CCTV running from the estate, were identified by gardaí and were subsequently arrested, and most of the property was recovered.

The reporting of the suspicious activity by a neighbour directly resulted in the apprehension of the suspects in this case.

In response to the assistance, a garda spokesperson said: “If you are interested in setting up a Neighbour Watch or Community Alert group in your area or reviving one, please contact your local Garda Station who can offer assistance with this.”

TALLOW

On May 6, in Tallow, a homeowner found their house had been ransacked.

The incident happened on Barrack Street, gardaí believe between 9am and 1pm.

Gardaí in Tallow are looking to trace a white van with three males on board who were in the area that morning.

If you can assist, please contact the Gardaí at Tallow on 058 56222 or the confidential line on 1800 666 111.

MULLINAVAT
