Gardaí appeal for witnesses to assault on a man in County Waterford

An Garda Siochana have informed the media of an incident of assault which was reported in Dungarvan on O'Connell Street over the weekend.
A male was assaulted on August 3 Friday night into Saturday morning when he was collecting food at a takeaway at approximately 1.20am.
A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana said: "If you were in the area or have dashcam footage please contact Dungarvan Garda Station on 058 48600"
It was a busy weekend overall with Spraoi and All Together Now.
A Garda spokesperson said that both events were without significant reported incidents.
However, there were arrests for public order, drunkenness offences and an increased number of detected offences for possession of controlled drugs.
