Funeral arrangements released for Waterford teenager, Gilbert Collins

Waterford Crystal player Gilbert Collins, who died in an e-scooter accident on Thursday morning.

The funeral arrangements for 15-year-old Gilbert Collins – the son of his heartbroken parents Collins (Bobby) and Ronke - has been confirmed with the brother of three to be laid to rest following a prayer service on Tuesday, July 2.

Gilbert, who died tragically in an e-scooter accident along with his close friend Avu Idris, will lie in repose at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, on Monday, July 1, from 5pm to 7pm.

A prayer service will take place at the funeral home the following day at noon, before Gilbert will begin his final journey to his place of rest close to his home in Ardmore Park, at Kilbarry Cemetery.

Gilbert will be sadly missed by his father Collins (Bobby), mother Ronke, brothers Albert Collins and Marvellous Okin and his sister Precious Okin, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May he rest in peace.
