A recent County Waterford fundraising event in aid of the Irish Kidney Association was a tasty success in every way.

Atlantic View Caravan Park in Tramore held a fundraising BBQ for the Waterford branch of the IKA on Saturday, August 23, and thankfully the sunny South East lived up to its name enhancing the overall enjoyment of the event for those in attendance.

The caravan park filled with patrons who enjoyed both the sunshine and the festive atmosphere.

A spokesperson for the organisers said younger holidaymakers had a fantastic time on the bouncy castles, while everyone was entertained by live music throughout the BBQ.

"Our sincere thanks to Dunne's Stores, generous sponsors of food and beverages for the event," said the spokesperson.

"A very special note of gratitude goes to Tommy Gemmell, the owner and organiser, along with his dedicated team of workers and helpers, whose efforts ensured the day was a tremendous success," he added.

The event was brought to a close with a spectacular fireworks display on the Prom at 9.30pm — a magical finale to a truly memorable community day.

A spokesperson for the Waterford branch of the IKA expressed "heartfelt thanks" to all the sponsors, patrons and supporters who contributed to the successful event.

"Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated," he said.

"Combined with a very generous donation from Tommy Gammell, the total raised was €5,180," he added.

Honorary Treasurer, Frances Moynihan and Honorary Chairperson, Ray Halligan were delighted to meet with Atlantic View Caravan Park proprietor, Tommy Gammell, to accept the cheque on behalf of the branch.
