Fresh severe weather warning in place for Waterford amid fears of flooding

A fresh weather warning has been issued for Waterford this Thursday morning.
A status orange severe weather warning for rain came into effect from 9am and will remain in place until 9am on Friday.
Spells of very heavy rain are expected.
With grounds saturated and river levels high, it is expected there will be river and localised flooding, as well as difficult travelling conditions.
Waterford City and County Council posted on social media this morning that the high tide has passed in Waterford City and county, and the flood defence barriers were effective.
Ground crews remain on site monitoring the situation.

- Dungarvan
- Carrickphierish
- Tramore (X91 RD74)
- Leperstown
