Former Waterford Rose of Tralee winner Kirsten Mate Maher tied the knot with her partner Ger Butler at the stunning Castle Durrow in Laois on Saturday.
In a post on Instagram the next day, the Gaeilgoir described her new husband as her “anam cara,” the Irish phrase for soulmate.
Kirsten was crowned Rose of Tralee in 2018, becoming the first African-Irish woman to win the coveted title.
The Déise was well-represented at the wedding.

The celebrant was Kirsten’s best friend, Sinéád, also known as Bonnie Boux, a dancer and performer who won Miss Burlesque Ireland 2022/2023.
Well-known Waterford photographer Hayley K Stuart captured the magical moments on video and Polaroid, and Katie Boner was the photographer.

The pair got engaged in the beautiful surrounds of Cashel Palace (see below).
Kirsten's dress was a Pronovias style from My Dress bridal wear in Carrick-on-Suir with alterations by Liesa O’Keeffe.
