Finally! – ‘Deathtrap’ broken wall to be fixed after year long delay

Kilmacthomas village

A damaged wall in Kilmacthomas, which has been broken for over a year, is finally going to be fixed.

Cllr Liam Brazil has been making representations in the council chamber every month since the wall behind the healthcare centre became damaged, saying it has posed a significant risk to children playing in the area.

He has previously described the wall as a “deathtrap”.

He said this week, “I’ve been on about this for the last 12 months. It’s a simple wall, why can’t it just be rebuilt?”

The good, albeit long overdue, news received at this month's Comeragh district meeting was that works to the wall are due to commence this week.
