Ferrybank signs hits home for dog-owners
One of the signs reminding dog owners to keep their animals on leads at all times.
Concerns raised by residents in the Ferrybank area on the outskirts of Waterford City of the need for dogs to be kept on leads at all times resulted in action on the part of Kilkenny County Council.
Following concerns raised by Ferrybank residents in the Facebook group, ‘Ferrybank Focus’, the Kilkenny local authority erected new signs reminding visitors to Ferrybank’s Neighbourhood Park of the bye-law that requires dogs to be kept on a lead at all times.
Steve Thwaites who runs the group said: “We have to thank Councillor Tomas Breathnach and Kilkenny County Council for their prompt action, which will also include unannounced visits by the dog warden who has enforcement powers.”
