Entries open for memorial cycle event in County Waterford

The races are being organised by Carrick Wheelers Cycling Club.

Entries are now open for an annual memorial cycling event that will take place in Waterford this month.

The annual Bobby Power Memorial Road Race is being organised by Carrick Wheelers Cycling Club and will take place in Clonea Power on St Patrick's Day morning, Tuesday, March 17.

The race has been run since 1955, with great success, and is a nationally renowned day on the Irish cycling calendar.

A spokesperson for the organisers said entries are currently being taken through Cycling Ireland Eventmaster.

The race headquarters will be located at Clonea GAA Club in Clonea Power (Eircode: E32V295). 

Those interested in taking part should note that physical sign-on at the start line is required.

The races will get under way at 11am with three prestigious cups up for grabs: The Bobby Power Memorial Cup; the Past Members Memorial Cup, and the Tommy Sheehan Memorial Cup.
