County Waterford town locals invited to participate in first town centre plan
The Lismore Town Team have announced the first stages of the Lismore town centre first plan
Lismore town locals are being invited to participate in the Lismore town centre first plan, as the first consultation process officially begins.
Developed by the newly formed Town Team, with the support of Waterford City and County Council and award-winning consultants, The Paul Hogarth Company, the plan aims to identify a series of potential regeneration projects for Lismore town centre over the coming years.
The process to shape the plan has now commenced, Waterford City and County Council has announced, and members of the public are invited to submit their suggestions and observations.
Cathaoirleach of the Dungarvan and Lismore Municipal District, Cllr. John Pratt welcomed the announcement of the consultation process, saying: “It is excellent to see the Lismore Town Centre First process starting with a consultation process. As we have seen elsewhere in the county, this plan will play a key role in attracting investment and informing policy and we look forward to seeing the ideas that emerge from the community.”
The public are invited to complete a short survey and make submissions by Sunday, September 20, either online at https://awqaw573pjr.typeform.com/LismoreTCF or by paper copy available at Lismore Heritage Centre.
Members of the public are also invited to drop into a public event being held between 11am and 7pm on Friday, September 11, at The Blue House, Main Street, Lismore (P51 HX96).
In launching the first consultation process, Chair of the Town Team, Gráinne Moynihan added: “We are delighted to get this process underway, having formed the local Town Team in April of this year. This plan is a great opportunity for Lismore to come together and identify projects that can make the town an even better place in which to live, work and visit.”
Dr James Hennessey, Director of The Paul Hogarth Company, said: “We hope that as many people as possible can come along to meet the team and share their views on what is best for Lismore. This local feedback will then form the foundations upon which the Lismore Town Centre First Plan will be built over the next few months, with completion due early next year.”
