Waterford City and County Council are to make repairs to West Street in Tallow. Cllr Donnchadh Mulcahy raised the issue of the road sinking and vehicles hitting the side of a three-storey building at the March sitting of Dungarvan-Lismore District Council.

Senior Engineer Gabriel Hynes responded: “Yeah, we can deal with it.”

At the same meeting, Cllr Mulcahy requested an additional HGV sign indicating the next left for the new road on Chapel Street in Dungarvan. He also asked for a sign in the square, directing lorry traffic straight at Meadow Fresh Food.

“Because a lot of them are taking the left to go down to Chapel Street, which is an issue as well,”  said Cllr Mulcahy.

Hynes said his department would look at both.
