Coastal erosion in Tramore cause of concern in Waterford

Tramore Beach
The coastal erosion on Tramore beach was raised at the recent meeting of the Metropolitan Council.
Councillor Seamus Ryan said at the session: "I previously requested that a report be done on the coastal erosion on the Tramore back-strand. I haven't seen any sight of that report."
Cllr Ryan asked to be forwarded a copy of the completed report.
Senior engineer for Waterford City and County Council Roger Noonan replied: "On the coastal erosion on Tramore strand, Malachy Walsh have been appointed to carry out a study on the Tramore beach area."
Malachy Walsh & Partners (MWP) are a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists focused on environmental solutions.
Mr Noonan went on: "I will follow up with them to see where we are on that and try to get some definite dates back for you."
He noted that Cllr Ryan had raised the issue previously and apologised.
"I know you raised this well before, so I'll get dates for that," said Mr Noonan.
