Celebration time for Waterford priest as he celebrates his 100th birthday

Very Rev. Fr. Donal O’Connor recently celebrated his 100th birthday at the Community Hospital, Dungarvan.

There were scenes of great celebration in County Waterford recently when a local member of the clergy celebrated his 100th birthday.

Expressions of good will and congratulations were extended to Very Rev. Fr. Donal O’Connor who celebrated his milestone birthday at the Community Hospital, Dungarvan. 

Canon O’Connor was born in Modeligo, on January 11, and at a young age travelled to Rome to complete his postgraduate studies.

Upon returning to Ireland, Cannon O’Connor worked as a curate and also taught theology in St. John’s College, Waterford, and St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, before being appointed Parish Priest of Ardmore and Grange. 

Canon O’Connor continued to work as a Parish Priest until the age of 75, when he retired as a full-time priest and moved to Dungarvan to work as an assistant priest before fully retiring. 

Canon O’Connor has given a lifetime of service to many communities, who congratulate him on his 100th birthday and wish him the very best of health and happiness for the future.
