Car free Sunday coming up in County Waterford

The Car Free Sunday initiative will take place in Tramore on September 22

This coming weekend will see a car free initiative taking place in County Waterford.

The 'Car Free Sunday' event will take place on Sunday, September 22, in Tramore town and is being organised to mark European Car Free day. 

The aim of the event is help people enjoy shared outdoor public spaces and it's being promoted by Waterford City & County Council. A range of initiatives and events will take place on the day including: Pilates on the Prom - with Grainne O'Driscoll (at 10.30am to 11.30am); Ready Steady Play activities for children, including face-painting, balloon art and fantasy face art, at 12noon to 2pm; Rugby on the beach with Waterford City RFC and Tramore RFC, at 1pm to 2pm.

Other events will include 'Spin on the Trishaw', on the Prom at from 2pm to 4pm and people will also get to try out the newly launched outdoor skatepark.

Paul Flynn will also be on hand to provide music on Molly's Balcony from 2pm to 4pm and there will also be representatives of local emergency services in attendance.
