Over a hundred people from the local community turned out for a blessing in the estate of Riverstown in Tramore last week.
The event was organised by the Legion of Mary, and was attended by all three priests of Tramore Parish, Fr. Richard, Fr. Mark and Fr. Tadeusz.

Despite being pushed back a week due to inclement weather, crowds came out in strength to support their community and the work of the parish.
One attendee said, “It was originally supposed to be on the week before but inclement weather forced us to postpone it till last Thursday. The weather was glorious, and it was as if God was showering us with his blessings.”

Others commented favourably on the event, saying that it was a fantastic opportunity to reunite with old friends and partake in building bonds within the local community. The work of the local priests was also complimented by attendees.
“The priests emphasized that they were here to serve the spiritual needs of the community, and that they are willing to help the parishioners in any way they can,” one participant said.

The local priests thanked the Legion of Mary for organising this event and for acting as a liaison between the community and the clergy.
People of all ages gathered, including many children from the community, who received the blessing and additionally claimed free religious medals, holy water, rosaries and holy pictures.
Local election candidate from the area Blaise Hannigan also attended.
There was music provided by a local men’s choir, who were in fine voice and contributed greatly to the prayerful atmosphere.
Along with being a successful social occasion with plenty of complimentary refreshments available after the event, there was a short teaching on the importance of the Miraculous Medal and the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
