Ballybeg Estate in Waterford City prepares for its 50th anniversary

Ballybeg Estate in Waterford is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The Ballybeg Estate in Waterford City is celebrating its 50th Jubilee this year.
The building of the estate started in 1974 and the first residents were in their houses early 1975.
The first Parish Priest was Fr McCarthy OP, who sadly passed away before he took up residence.
The local Brill project has gone on board to help the residents and all the community and sports groups with links to the area to celebrate what is a very special year for anyone associated with the estate.
It's expected a meeting will take place in June for all interested parties to get involved in a programme of events to mark the historic anniversary.
It's hoped that several events will be organised over the summer months, such as a soccer club’s street league and the GAA club’s 'hurling on the green' initiative.
