Bail refused for man on drug charge

A man has been remanded in custody after being refused bail at Waterford Circuit Court.
Lucky Osasey, of O'Connell Court Apartments, Penrose Lane, Waterford City, stood before Judge Eugene O'Kelly.
Osasey (48) was arrested at Davitt's Quay, Dungarvan, on suspicion of committing an offence contrary to Section 15(A) of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Detective Garda Alan Crowley told Judge O'Kelly that Osasey had €533 in cash on his person and was "in designer clothing" when arrested.
Defence counsel Kate Kelly BL told the Judge that her client had two young sons living in the city, was looking for work and was willing to sign on twice daily at the Garda station. Ms Kelly said he "enjoys the right to the presumption of innocence".
Judge O'Kelly refused bail. The matter will be revisited on April 14. Osasey will appear from custody via video link.
