An attempt was made to steal the car

An appeal for information was posted online today, Sunday, September 9, following an attempted theft of a car in Waterford City.

A post on the Renewed Thrift Shop social media page read: 'Guys we parked our car this morning at €5 car park beside Thomas Hill and O'Connell Street in Waterford. Came to car 18:20 to find out someone was trying to rob it.'

The owners of the vehicle appealed to anyone who may have seen something suspicious between 5pm and 6.20pm to them know. They also highlighted that it was the second time this year the vehicle was targeted.

The car in question is a silver '08 registered Honda Stream. The owners said CCTV will be checked tomorrow and the Gardaí were notified.
