'Aggressive and intoxicated' Waterford in city centre
The public order incident occurred on Barronstrand Street in Waterford city.
Brendan Bourke, of 30 Strawberry Hill Apartments, Waterford, appeared in Waterford District Court last week on a public order charge, for an incident that occurred on Barronstrand Street in Waterford city.
On July 25, 2025, at 4:30pm, Gardaí were alerted to the incident.
When they arrived, 46-year-old Brendan Bourke was found acting “aggressive and intoxicated".
He was seen shouting obscenities towards people in the area.
He was placed inside a Garda patrol van and subsequently charged contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act.
Bourke has 10 previous convictions, all for public order and road traffic matters.
He was convicted and fined €100 by Judge Paula Murphy.
He has three months to pay.
