Roads in need of repair since Storm Chandra have been approved for funding.

As part of a nationwide effort to repair roads that were damaged earlier this year by severe weather during Storm Chandra, Piltown Municipal District have been given official notice this week of €980,000 allocated to the district.

Kilkenny County Council received a total of €3.46 million in severe weather funding from the Department of Transportation spread across each district. Road repairs under this fund will be reinspected and renewed by year end said John Tennyson, District Engineer for Kilkenny County Council, at Tuesday’s Piltown municipal meeting.

Waterford City & County Council will receive a total of €5.53 million under the same funding scheme to be split across each district.
