73 residential units are being planned on the outskirts of Waterford city.

Planning application was submitted this week by MKDB Developments Ltd, outlining intentions to construct the units at the junction between Williamstown Road and the R710 Outer Ring Road and the land to the west of the Farronshoneen Roundabout.

Planned is a mix of one and two storey units, comprising of two bed, three bed and four bed.

Also in the works are 2 three-storey duplex apartment blocks and 1 four-storey apartment block.

Contained within the blocks is a mix of one bed and two bed units.

New entrance walls and piers at Williamstown Road are planned, as is vehicular road and pedestrian connection to the Williamstown Road.

Pedestrian connection will be provided at the Farronshoneen Roundabout.

Decision on the development is expected from the local authority by November 10.
