62-year-old Ann Marie Sheehan appeared in court last week over an incident that occurred at the Bus Eireann depot at Merchant’s Quay, Waterford.

The woman, who has an address at 11 Elm Park, Clonmel, attracted attention on May 25 after being refused entry on to a bus.

The gardaí were called and she was arrested at the scene for her own safety.

He solicitor, Derrick Connors, said that his client was willing to pay a donation to the Court Poor Box to close the matter.

Judge Darach McCarthy took into account the woman’s early guilty plea, and noted that although she does have previous convictions, she hasn’t been in trouble before on public order related charges.

He ordered the woman to make a payment of €50 to the Court Poor Box.

If it is paid before September 1 the matter will be struck out.

“I urge you to consider this a lesson learned,” Judge McCarthy told the woman.
