South East Greenway

Of the total 24 kilometres of the South East greenway, 14 kilometres have now been completed or are substantially completed, councillors heard at the Piltown Municipal District meeting this week.

Acting Director of Services, Ian Gardner updated the councillors on the progress made on the South East Greenway, noting that the 5.5km section of the Greenway between Ferrybank and Curraghmore is now substantially completed.

Since the last update, the installation of amenity fixtures along the route, such as picnic benches, general benches and bicycle stands, has been completed. Some minor fencing works along this route, alongside some landscaping efforts for wildflower gardens, remain unfinished.

The council will open a public consultation period on the Woodstock to South East Greenway link project this month amid the concept and feasibility stage of the works.
