Man (50s) dies after house fire in Cork

A man in his 50s had died after a fire broke out at his home on the outskirts of Rylane, Co Cork, on Thursday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at around 1pm, and emergency services attended the scene within minutes of receiving the call.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
The property has been sealed off for a technical examination. A postmortem examination will be carried out on the deceased.
The Coroner has been made aware of the death. An inquest will be held at a later date. The blaze is not being treated as suspicious in nature.
