A 62-year-old landlord who plied his female tenant with alcohol and then raped her has been jailed for seven years

Regin Parithapara Rajan (43) is on trial charged with the murder of his wife at the home they had moved in to in March of 2023.

The woman is over three decades younger than the landlord.

The 45-year-old man, who can’t be named to protect the identity of his victims, had been charged with 185 counts of rape and sexual assault

It continued for over fifteen years until 2021 when the offences came to light and a garda investigation was launched.

Ricardo Hoey, of Ardcarraig in Carrigaline, had been charged with the murder of Matt O’Neill on December 28th, 2022.

The trial heard that the charges related to a period between January 1995 and December 1997 when the girl was aged between ten and twelve.
