At Ennis District Court today, the Book of Evidence was served in the case where Ms Saoirse Lillis McMahon of Moveen East, Kilkee, is charged with the dangerous driving causing the death of cyclist, Michael Lorigan, on August 16th 2023, on the N67 at Baunmore, Kilkee in west Clare contrary to Section 53 of the Road Traffic Act.

Gardaí had summonsed him to face charges under the Road Traffic Act concerning alleged motoring offences at the R136 road in Tallaght, Dublin, on February 7th, 2022.

The judge was giving his decision in the case of a driver who was stopped at a roadside checkpoint for a drug test and told he was required to remain there for up to an hour
