FIFA president Gianni Infantino has been accused of breaching political neutrality rules.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed he personally lobbied his FIFA counterpart Gianni Infantino over Balogun’s dismissal.

The US President urged FIFA to review the striker’s suspension.

The decision to clear Balogun has been heavily criticised, with Uefa saying it “crossed a red line”.

The Monaco forward, who has scored three goals at the tournament, was dismissed for his challenge on Tarik Muharemovic.
