There had been a number of serious and near-fatal incidents around synthetic opioids in Irish prisons during summer 2024.

Patricia Ducie (50), with an address at Gardiner Street Lower, Mountjoy, Dublin 1, had pleaded guilty in the District Court to 22 charges.

David Dunne (40), with a last address in Summerhill, Dublin 1, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Robert O’Connor on July 29th, 2022, at Mountjoy Prison.
