Henry McGowan (31) had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murder of John McGowan (66) at Ballyfin Demesne, Ballyfin, Portlaoise, Co Laois, on November 12th, 2024

Austin Mangan (53) had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murder of Maud Coffey (41) at the Horizon Building in Royal Canal Park, Ashtown, Dublin 15, in January 2023.

Ross O'Rourke, with a previous address in Tullow, Carlow, had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to murdering his father, Stefan Nivelle Posschier
