Approximately 2,600 properties were still without power across the island of Ireland on Sunday night.

The ‘vast majority’ of properties without power in Northern Ireland will have it restored on Sunday, crews have advised.

It is understood that he died after a fall from a shed roof during the Status Red weather warning around 4.15pm on Friday.

Gardaí reported that a man died during the storm, which also brought localised flooding, fallen trees, transport disruption and school closures.

The incident happened at Letterkenny at 4.15 pm.
