Cricket, GAA, hockey and rugby were all played by young people at the event in the Stormont estate in east Belfast.

Cricket Ireland has stepped in to reschedule the event which was cancelled after local residents expressed concern at the inclusion of a GAA club.

Cricket Ireland has stepped in and indicated a similar event will now take place at Stormont.

The cross community children’s sports camp had been planned by North Down Cricket Club in Comber but was opposed by an Orange lodge.
