Danny “Big Dan” O’Donoghue’s barrister, senior counsel John Bowman, had argued that O’Donoghue was “unaware” that Ms O’Rourke had been standing behind the tall screened gates.

Danny O’Donoghue (42), Lower Main Street, Rathkeale, Co Limerick, admitted the offences when he appeared before Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.

Marguerita O’Rourke died after a van hit a set of gates she was standing beside on December 21st.
