A garda and five other people have been arrested in connection with the removal of ‘a substantial quantity’ of drugs from a garda station.

On Tuesday, protesters stormed and torched the parliament, the Supreme Court, and multiple government offices, including Singha Durbar – the central administrative complex.

The survey, which involved over 26,300 people across the 27 EU member states including over 1,000 in the Republic, examined public attitudes to corruption.

Another recommendation made by the Garda Síochána Inspectorate involved allowing gangland informants, who are providing intelligence to gardaí, to commit criminal offences in certain circumstances.
