Addressing her son’s murderer as he was jailed for life on Friday, Linda Ring said: “We as a family will never forgive you. We are the ones who have to suffer a life sentence."

Stephen Ring was reported missing by his mother on October 17th. 2024.

Stephen Ring's body remained in the Carrigfoyle Quarry for 13 days before being discovered by two children who were out fishing.

Linda Ring told a sentencing hearing on Tuesday for Jane Corcoran (35) that her family has been "devastated" by the way in which her "witty and generous" son Stephen Ring was taken from them.

Following her arraignment, Michael Hourigan SC, representing Corcoran, asked the court to set a sentencing date in the final week of the court term.

The discovery at Carrigfoyle Lake came as a missing person appeal for Stephen Ring was called off.
