Fifty-three thousand homes, farms and businesses are without power across the country due to Storm Ashley

Kerry, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Donegal, Mayo and Galway are under a status-orange warning until 8pm on Sunday.

The warning covers seven counties on Sunday while a yellow wind warning will be in effect for the rest of the island of Ireland.

A status orange wind warning has been put in place by Met Éireann for counties Clare, Donegal, Galway and Mayo

The RSA is warning of difficult road conditions with the potential for fallen trees and debris as well as damaged power lines.

A status orange wind warning will be in place in Co Galway and Co Mayo from 12pm Sunday until 9pm, while the rest of the Republic will be under a status yellow wind warning, valid from 10am Sunday until midnight.
