Sigrid O’Meara (63), from Ballincurry, Longford has sued Boots Retail (Ireland) Ltd with a registered address at Citywest Business Campus, Citywest, Dublin.

The 16-year old is now urging all premises that have the life-saving device to ensure those responsible for the equipment get it checked regularly.

PJ Davis (64), Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, claims the ESB failed to provide safe and proper equipment when he was required to work on replacing old uncovered electricity wires with new covered wires at Agahcordrinan, Co Longford, on July 5th, 2016.

A male and a female (both aged in their 20s) were subsequently charged and are due to appear before Athlone District Court
