Christopher Doyle (34), an employee of Dublin Aerospace since June 2022, lost his airport security clearance last November after failing a Garda “security intelligence check”, rendering him unable to work.

Mr Justice Barry O'Donnell granted a number of airlines an injunction extending the pause pending determination of the main challenge to the cap.

Airport charges are payable by airlines for use of the airport’s services and facilities, such as runways and airport security

The Finance Minister said the cap should be lifted for economic growth, connectivity and tourism.

It would be chaos if there was a decision not to abide by the law, he warned.
