The body of a man in his 70s was discovered after gardaí were called to a house in Tobersool near Balbriggan in north county Dublin.

The man is due before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Thursday.

This brings the number of arrests in connection with the riots to 53

Shortly after 3pm on Friday, gardaí intercepted two vehicles and carried out a planned search of a business premises in the Ballymount area of Tallaght

Three other men in their 20s, 30s and 40s were previously arrested and have appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice.

The investigation targets organised crime gangs and repeat offenders particularly in the areas of burglary and break-ins.
