The Dublin-based low-cost airline said it carried 22.2 million passengers last month.

The Irish low-cost carrier reported a 34 per cent drop in profits after tax to €538 million for the three months to the end of June.

In a statement released this evening, the airline said they "will have to consider the longer-term implications of implementing the recommendation."

More than 200 flights have already been cancelled
