Jennifer Carroll MacNeill has hit out at the main contractor of the new National Children’s Hospital over when it will be completed.

Mr Cullinane said there is a responsibility on the Minister and the Government.

‘It is BAM’s responsibility to get its final 1 per cent done,’ Jennifer Carroll MacNeill said.

BAM has said it is ‘disappointed’ with remarks made by the Health Minister.

The project is scheduled to finish in September, from an original completion date of August 2022.

The hospital has already missed 14 previous deadlines.

CHI was established in 2019 to govern and operate paediatric services in Ireland, and currently operates Temple Street, Crumlin and Tallaght hospitals. It will also operate the new National Children’s Hospital upon completion.

The project had been due to be completed in June, but has been delayed until September.
