The death occurred on April 19 of Gerry (Ringo) O'Regan, Dunmore East.
The late Ringo was a fine guitar player and played with a band named The Lonesome Hobos. Lonnie Lonergan and Gerry (Ringo) Regan had a Band they put together in 1988.
The Band originated in The Candlelight Inn, Dunmore East and went on to gain success for their mix of Country and Bluegrass Music.
One of the first groups in the South East to include material from John Prine, Guy Clarke, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band etc.
The Band played on National TV and Radio and travelled the highways and byways for six years.
The late Ringo's remains were reposed at Falconers Funeral Home, Tramore, on Wednesday, April 23.
His Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, April 24, at The Church of the Holy Cross, Killea, celebrated by Rev Fr P.J.Breen P.P in the presence of a huge congregation.
During the mass his daughter Gillian sang, and her friends played the music and his son Tony did a beautiful tribute to his late father and his remains were cremated on Thursday last.
He is survived by his children Gillian, Tony, Stevie and Robbie; his grandchildren Harry, Joe, Alice and Grace; his daughter-in-law and his son-in-law, by all his relatives, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many many friends.
