Blessing of Boats Dunmore East

RNLI is proud to welcome back the Blessing of the Boats this year, a longstanding maritime tradition and an important moment for our Coastal Community.

The event begins at 2pm on Sunday, July 27, with a short Ceremony in the Harbour, where local clergy will offer prayers and blessings for the safety of all who work and travel on the sea.

Following the blessing, a flotilla of boats will make their way in convoy from the harbour to just outside the harbour wall.

There, a wreath will be laid at sea in memory of all those who have lost their lives on the water.

This is a family-friendly event with plenty to enjoy onshore too, such as be live music, a BBQ, and face painting for children.

The RNLI gift shop will be open, and guided lifeboat tours will be available throughout the day.

The volunteer lifeboat crew will be there to welcome visitors, answer questions, and share what we do.

And of course, Stormy Stan will also be making an appearance.
