Sarah Dempsey from Slieverue and Gary O’Brien from Tycor Avenue were married on March 6 in the Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank.
Sarah works as a social care worker for a residential centre in Kilkenny and Gary works in the call centre for Tesco Mobile. The couple met through mutual friends in 2019 and started dating in 2020.

Sarah told the Waterford News & Star that although COVID was hard for the couple, “they found other ways” to spend time together, such as phone calls and texts.
They went on to buy a home together, which they renovated with the help of family and friends.
“My dad did most of the work,” Sarah joked.
They celebrated their reception in the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross. The couple were delighted with the beautiful backdrop for their sunny wedding day.

The couple are going to Disneyland Paris in June for their honeymoon. Sarah said they decided to go because “it wouldn’t be something we’d normally do”, although they both love Disney movies.
The couple normally enjoy going on daytrips around Ireland together, “to see the sights”.
Fr Rodrick Whearty officiated at the ceremony. The bouquets and church flowers were arranged by Tara Freyne from ‘All About Flowers’, Slieverue. Lisa Coffey did the bridal make-up and Nollaig Hennessey provided church music.

Photography was provided by Andrew McDermott and videography by John O’Connor of My Forever Film.
Music entertainment was provided by The SoundZ Band and Déise Weddings, who kept the happy couple and guests dancing all night.
The couple wish to thank their families and friends for being there for them on their special day. They would also like to thank all the wedding vendors who made their day memorable.
